Meet the Training and Development team at Peach State, Richard Fletcher and Jazmyne Scott!

Role of the Training and Development Team at Peach State

Peach State Truck Centers leadership decided it was time that training and development should be a priority for the organization. When employees start a new job or are promoted into management it can be stressful when they do not feel prepared. Peach State wanted to make a change so that all employees would feel capable and empowered in their role, so they started looking for the best Training and Development team.

Richard Fletcher - Director

Richard Fletcher was a great fit for the director role, with over 25 years of executive level experience in sales, operations, organizational development, training, and talent management. His move from operations to training happened serendipitously. He was working in operations when the company he worked for began their training and development department and selected him for the role based on his leadership and development skills as a manager. He felt right at home fulfilling his personal mission of “helping others improve through learning.” When he moved on to Peach State, the company’s “why” of “making a positive difference in the lives of others” aligned perfectly with his values!

Jazmyne Scott - Training Specialist

Jazmyne Scott was a high school English teacher for five years, but she needed a change after the education environment shifted during the pandemic. She knew that she loved education, and through research she discovered she could use all her skills in corporate training. “The Peach State Training Specialist job description spoke to me because of how much the company seemed to care for their employees and prioritize their success. Then they put action behind their words, and it was evident throughout the interview process. When I expressed my concern about not knowing much about trucking, it was very clear that the focus was on making a positive difference in the lives of their employees and customers. Trucks are a means to fulfilling their mission.”

The Peach State Team

Richard and Jazmyne bring different strengths to the table, which makes them a great team. Richard knows how to build great programs that develop employees and orient them into new roles, and Jazmyne can execute those programs through teaching and incorporating modern learning technology. They developed this program from the ground up and it is going great. New employees are overjoyed to attend orientation and learn about Peach State’s culture, benefits, and how the company really makes a positive difference in the lives of others.

When it comes to the training programs, Richard states, “I would say the reception from leadership to want to take part in training is better than most. This involvement has made the program truly successful. Together with leadership we have created a better experience for new hires and current employees.”

Richard and Jazmyne are passionate about helping people and inspiring employees. This training team is united and excited for what is to come!
