I am PSTC - Jason Spore

At Peach State Truck Centers in McDonough, Georgia, there's a service technician who has not only embraced the challenges of the trade but has soared to the highest levels of excellence. Jason Spore, who’s been with the company since 2019, has achieved a remarkable feat by obtaining the highest score on the ASE Heavy-Duty Master Certification test within the expansive Daimler Trucks of North America (DTNA) network.

Jason's journey at Peach State Truck Centers began several years ago when he joined the team as a Service Technician. He had a clear vision of where he wanted his career to go and was determined to leave his mark on the industry. For him, the ASE Heavy-Duty Master Certification test was not just an exam; it was a long-term goal that symbolized his commitment to excellence in his field, alongside his aspiration to secure a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Born in Oklahoma City, Jason's life journey took him to Las Vegas, Nevada, and Miami before settling in Georgia in 2011. His father, a chemical engineer who also dabbled in mechanical work, instilled in him a fascination for all things mechanical. This fascination led Jason to pursue a career in commercial electrical work straight out of high school.

Upon arriving in Georgia, Jason shifted his focus to working on trucks, trailers, and equipment. It was at this juncture that he ventured into the world of trucking. Over the years, he honed his skills at various companies, including Newell Recycling and Penske, where he fine-tuned his mechanical prowess.

One of the reasons Jason was drawn to Peach State Truck Centers was the value they placed on training. He understood that having a CDL and obtaining specialized certifications would not only increase his skill set but also make him more valuable as an employee. Unlike other commercial truck dealerships, Peach State offered a laid-back, family-like environment, where employees were trusted to excel.

Throughout his four-year tenure at Peach State Truck Centers McDonough, Jason seized every opportunity for training and development. The company's training department became his second home as he completed various courses and classes. The support and investment from Peach State were unlike anything he had experienced in his career.

Jason's dedication to self-improvement and his unwavering commitment to his craft paid off when he received a surprising email. It informed him that he had achieved the highest score on the ASE Heavy-Duty Master Certification test in the DTNA network. Initially thinking it might be spam, Jason was both surprised and proud of his accomplishment. He noted that the test was no easy feat, comprising eight different tests, each with 60 challenging questions, covering various subjects such as electrical troubleshooting, steering, brakes, suspension, and more.

Jason acknowledges that the test doesn't allow for traditional studying. Instead, it evaluates what technicians know based on their daily work experiences. While he may not have aced every subject, his broad knowledge and hands-on experience prevailed.

In his free time, Jason cherishes moments with his family and working on his passion for welding. With his mom and dad living in Tennessee, they gather two or three times a year, strengthening the family bonds that have supported his journey.

Jason's story is a testament to the power of dedication, a love for what one does, and the value of continuous learning. With a CDL in hand and a prestigious ASE Heavy-Duty Master Certification to his name, Jason Spore is poised to continue making a lasting impact in the world of heavy-duty trucks, and Peach State Truck Centers McDonough is fortunate to have him as a part of their exceptional team.
